Alternate Sources of producing Electricity

We often talk about harm done on our environment by various means, of which carbon dioxide is the main gas responsible for climate change, every year. Little thought is given about the harmful effects of producing electricity by conventional burning of coal and gas in power station or from nuclear power which has even more severe environmental impacts. It is high time we think about producing "green electricity" from alternative sources which do not cause these impact on our environment. Surely it could be from renewable energy sources which is in abundance and almost inexhaustible in its natural form.

World all over is experiencing revolution in energy, where greater emphasis on preserving the environment and saving energy is the need of hour. Producing this so called green electricity from renewable energy sources, be it from solar, wind, hydro, wave, tidal or biomass has a major advantage that it does not pollute our environment. In this endeavor of providing ourselves a green environment we must harness our resources, build new infrastructure and develop newer technology to accomplish this energy mission. Financial resources need not be a constraint, which can be managed by a world-wide program to give incentive to consumers and industries alike who follow better environment norms by earning and trading in green energy credits.

In our fight against global warming we must not lose heart, a few simple decisions, like lessor dependence on conventional energy, shedding old habits of fuel consumption and choosing a green electricity supplier could be the environment remedy.
